Deciding What To Build

aMa sits down with the client and has a formal discussion about the scope of the project. It is critical at the juncture that all of the absolute needs and the material wants of the project are all laid out and clearly defined. From this understanding, an initial budget can be made.

Rough Sketches

Based on the list of requirements and the budget, a sketch of the plan is made. This initial drawing creates a visual representation of the discussion to this point. The floor is open to all comments and ideas during the presentation of this schematic.

Fine-tuning the Details

The sketch now becomes an architectural drawing. This solidifies the eventual solution, major materials & room arrangements. Agreeing upon this document provides a clear path to all parties and directs the construction phase in exact detail.

Creating The Blueprints

The technical drawing is solidified and constitutes a visual language and help to ensure that the drawing is unambiguous and relatively easy to understand. Contractors use this for bidding purposes, permitting and construction implementation.

Finding The Right Builder

Through a bidding [cost estimate] process, the owner decides on who shall actually build the project. The architect will review bids and contractor contracts if the owner seeks assistance and will advise based on their knowledge and relationships in the industry.
